About DogFish Hydrotherapy

Meet Katherine

Small Animal Hydrotherapist
DogFish is owned and run by Katherine Ewen. Katherine offers hydrotherapy based rehabilitation for dogs with a wide range of mobility problems.

After working as a veterinary nurse for 12 years, Katherine ran an independent hydrotherapy centre and following that, a separate one within a veterinary practice.

Katherine holds the ABC Nationally Accredited Award in Hydrotherapy for Small Animals Level 3. This course covers the relevant physiology, common surgical procedures, practical hydrotherapy training, pool water management and animal first aid. The latter requires updating every two years, so you can rest assured Katherine can deal with any first aid situation that may occur for your pet, using up to date techniques.

Katherine is also a qualified canine behaviourist, so she can assist owners with mental stimulation for their animals.

Meet Charlotte

Small Animal Hydrotherapist
Charlotte started working at DogFish Hydrotherapy in September 2016 on a locum basis, which enables us to work hours that suit you. She had previously worked for 8 months at another hydrotherapy centre in a veterinary practice.

Also holding the ABC nationally accredited award in Hydrotherapy for Small Animals Level 3, Charlotte provides the same level of care and treatment for your pet, as well as providing a second pair of hands for those larger or more specialist cases.

Read what Charlotte has to say about DogFish;

"My favourite part of my job is seeing patients come in that might not be fully weight baring on a leg, and within a few sessions they are more weight baring on that leg. I find this rewarding as I am making the patient more comfortable and seeing them improve each session."
